this is how sharper image loses a sale

clock

Above: My new desk clock not from Sharper Image.

Earlier today I headed to Sharper Image to pick up the clock I just wrote about earlier.

As I walked in the store I marched straight to the section where the clock was.

A dopey sales broad approached.

May I help you?

Yes, I'd like this clock right here.

Oh! Sorry, we're all sold out.

Okay, then. Sell me this one right here.

It's not in stock.

I don't care if it's not in stock. There's one right here.

It doesn't have a scan code on it.

What are you talking about? Of course it has a scan code on it.

Well.. yeah.. but I still can't sell this one to you.

Long story short: Dopey sales broad absolutely would not sell the floor model to me. No way, no how. After saying "Oh! We'll get more in about a week", I said "Yeah, thanks. Whatever" and walked out.

Any moron knows that floor models in retail are considered stock. And if for some stupid reason it isn't, all you have to do is login to the POS system and add it, then sell it. It is as simple as that.

Any moron also knows that if something in the store is out of stock, you take it off the shelf to indicate such. DUH.

. . .

I headed to Wal-Mart instead. Found my clock. No, it doesn't have projection ability, but it was only fifteen bucks, runs on 2 AA's and is atomic so it sets automatically.

It's black and has a button that makes it light up (pictured above.) Looks good, functions just like it should.

To Sharper Image: Fuck you.
