The traffic reporting systems solely rely on human (as in police officer and/or D.O.T.) reports. Some towns are good at that, most are not. So I don't use traffic reports at all from a GPS device. The best bet for road conditions while driving is your local FM radio station that gives updates every 15 minutes or so. Those are much more timely and far more accurate.

So what do you like instead? I was pondering the 885T but may look at the TT 930T now who uses the other guy for 'traffic', however I'm sure there are p'd off folks with either brands and traffic alert systems.

I just got a new weather product from Weather Direct by La Crosse Technology which updates automatically and provides severe weather alerts for a small fee. Not only does it give the the alert it identifies the time. It has gone off prior to seeing the alerts on my local tv stations. No traffic but the website indicates it is coming soon
