Big thanks and some updates
Some cool stuff happened over the weekend.
A handful of people did send some cash to help out with my unexpected expense due to a lightning storm.
To all who sent in donations, huge thanks. Seriously. Cash donations came in from the USA, Canada, Finland and Germany. I sometimes forget the internet is a worldwide thing and it is so cool to see people out there that like what I do here on my little web site, and find it to be a genuine value to them.
Of the three items ordered, the replacement Linksys WRT54GL router arrived first on Sunday. After a quick firmware update (which changed the login screen) and setting some security, everything was good to go there.
The two items left are the replacement Dell Latitude and the HDMI cable.
As for the cable, well, I don't think I need to tell you how one of those works. It's a cable. 🙂
As for the laptop, I'm hoping it will arrive safe and have everything working properly on it. I will post updates on that once it arrives.
How much did the donations end up being?
Not enough to cover what I spent...
...but I'm not upset about that. Not at all. I'm happy anyone sent anything and am very appreciative of it. Truly, I am.
Now although I linked this above, I'll link this again and say if you want to know why I'm asking for cash, all that is explained here.
If you would like to send a few bucks my way (and I would really appreciate it if you would,) you can do that right here.
Just like before, I've set no minimum nor maximum. Just send what you can.
If you can't send cash, send web traffic. If you have a blog of your own, Twitter account or Facebook, pick any article you like and link to here. Linking to this site does help me out, and it doesn't cost you anything.
True, I'd prefer the cash, but like I said, if you can't do that, send over some web traffic.
I will be getting back to regular content here real soon and shut up about this, not to worry. 🙂 But for now I just had to personally thank everyone who donated. You guys know who you are and you're awesome.
