Blue lights are cool
I recently got a new cell phone, or "wireless" phone or whatever you want to call it.. I still call them cell phones.
Anyway, the phone I got is the LG VX3200. Very cool, I like it a lot. No, it's not a camera phone.. couldn't afford that. Still, I really like this new phone, I haven't had a new phone in several years - and man have they sure have come a long way. This is my first phone with a color backlit display (but it's still not readable in direct sunlight). It's also my first phone with "digital" tones, such as the ringer, notify, and so on. The phone also has a speakerphone built-in that actually works correctly - which shocked me. Most cell phone speakerphones are terrible at best. This one really works. It also can send/receive AOL instant messages. Very cool. There are lots of other goodies too.
One of the best features of the phone is the thing that people least think about: It's easy to talk with it. The ear part can be heard clearly, the talk part can be spoken into easily, it fits well in hand without having to hold it a special way.
Worst feature: No games. I know Nokia phones that are over 5 years old and they had games on them (even the 2-color versions). Mine has none. Do I need them? Not really, but it'd be nice to have if I'm ever somewhere waiting for something and need to kill some time.
Worst feature part 2: The leather case is good, but that little plastic flap that goes over the display takes away a ton of clarity. It puts "splotches" from the plastic sticking to the screen part. Granted, it protects the display, but it just looks bad.
THE best feature of the phone: 1/8th inch charger plug. Why is this so great? Well, for those of you like myself who had to deal with those awful Motorola v120t phones (a.k.a. "free-up" phones), you know that the pins that connect the charger on the phone never work right. You have to jiggle it, wiggle it, plug in, plug out, plug a little bit in until you hear that "buh-leeeep!" and then you know it's charging. On my new phone however, it's a nice thick 1/8th inch plug. Plugs in easy, charges easy. What more could anyone want from a charger. :-)
And the blue lights on the number pad are way cool, too. Hehe.
