how i'm doing, what i might be doing

To anyone that would express concern over how I'm doing during these interesting times, here are some updates.

First and foremost, yes, I am okay and not sick. Not that I know of, anyway.

I am in the Dallas area of Texas, which is one of the "hotter" spots as you can see from the map above. However, I don't live directly within the city of Dallas itself but rather in a neighboring county. This is kind of like when I was living in Florida when I said I was living in Tampa Bay, but didn't physically live within the city of Tampa (although I did at one point).

Aside from that, the only thing that's really sucked being self-isolated is trying to figure out what to do with my time.

This being true, I'm entertaining a few ideas right now. You can share your thoughts with me on this by e-mailng me if you like.

I may start up a podcast because I like to talk. What I would probably do is cross-post it between YouTube and a podcast hosting service for those that would want to download it. The plan for this one would be audio-only.

Video podcasts are obviously a thing, but have never quite understood that since the whole point is to listen and not view. My understanding of how people consume podcasts is that they listen to them while doing other things rather than sit and stare at a screen.

Live stream?

I've had the ability to stream live on YouTube for some time now but have never used it. To those who have been following me a long time, you may remember that I used to do a tech podcast via the service (remember that?) for another company I worked for, so yes, I did stream live before years ago.

Has much changed with live streaming from then to now? Not really. The only major differences is that you can now stream from your phone, and the two biggies for streaming are YouTube and Twitch.

My new live stream wouldn't be about tech but rather about music, music production and so on. My intent would be for it to be like a meet-up of sorts just for people to hang out.

I have some ideas for a few new books, mostly instructional since that's what I do best for book stuff. If there is a particular subject you'd like to see me put into book form, e-mail me.

YouTube videos?

I also have a few ideas for some new YouTube videos, but again, if there's something you'd like to see, e-mail me with your suggestion.

That's about it for now. Just a general update. Again, yes, I'm okay.
