Never let friends answer the phone
One of my friends happens to be a toy collector. Today I read a story on the 'net that says a particular Batmobile is having its wings changed because of a hazard problem (too pointy for children). What this means is that all future models will not have the pointy wings, and therefore the existing ones on the shelves right now will soon be a collector's item.
The friend I mentioned would obviously be interested in this (he's a toy collector), so I gave him a call. One of his friends answers. She says "He's in the bathroom", so I said "Well, can you go get him?" She then says "Uh, no." And I said "Please? It's important." She sarcastically responds with "I'm not going in the bathroom to get him."
I hung up.
This stupid girl could have easily just knocked on the bathroom door and said "Hey you got a phone call". I didn't tell her to go in the bathroom to get him. Nope. She was stupid and lazy.
This means I'm not going to bother to tell my friend about the Batmobile. When I encounter someone as stupid and as lazy as that, I got two words: "Screw it." His loss.
Sounds rude on my part, I know. But today's lesson is: You should never let your friends answer your phone, else you may miss important information you need to know.
I normally keep jeans a long time. I've had some that lasted for several years - without ripping or tearing or looking too faded or whatever.
Normally I prefer to buy Levi's SilverTab. They last a long time, BUT - they're hard to find and they're expensive.
I made the mistake of buying a lesser brand of Levi's, the 505's, about 6 months ago. I bought 2 pair. You won't see this advertised on Levi's web site, because they suck as I found out.
A few weeks ago, one pair ripped - right below the zipper. Yeah, that spot.
No big deal. But then, not more than 2 months later, the other pair I had ripped - in the exact same spot.
My SilverTabs on the other hand have lasted well over 5 years. No rips, no tears, only a little fading.
"Screw this" I said. I wasn't about to spend 30 to 40 dollars for a single pair of jeans, nor was I going to buy any more 505's.
I went and bought 2 pair of 5-star Wranglers ("Hero" series) from Wal-Mart. Very comfy. Very good looking - and cheap at $15 a pair(!!!!)
Hopefully these will last a while. 🙂 And if not, they're pretty cheap so I can always buy more without going to the poorhouse. (grin)
Because the existing team site (b3l.recongamer.com) is so hard to remember.. I decided to register a new domain for the clan, which is simply www.TeamSBN.com. I likes it. Should be online in a day or so.
