The 2,140 Calorie milkshake
Every time I think I've found the milkshake with the most Calories, I find one that has even more.
The milkshake is basically drinkable ice cream, and the type most people are familiar with dates back to the 1950s when they were regular offerings at soda fountains. These are still made today at various restaurants in America.
On the once-a-year occasion I do get a milkshake, it's always a small size and I can't even finish one because my stomach doesn't agree with it. Even so, I like the taste, so I drink what I can to get my milkshake fix for the year and then discard the rest.
Out of curiosity I like to know who makes the milkshake that has the most amount of Calories in it.
To note, milkshakes have always been very high in Calories. Yes, there is such a thing as a low-Calorie milkshake, but restaurants don't offer them, nor should they because the substitute ingredients would make a ton of people sick. As the saying goes, with a milkshake, "it is what it is." They're all high-Calorie, always have been and always will be.
For years, I thought Burger King made the shake with the most Calories. I was mistaken.
Baskin Robbins makes a milkshake that has even more Calories than anything Burger King makes.
The shake Baskin Robbins makes is called the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Milkshake. The largest size you can get is 32 ounces. Based on what the Baskin Robbins Nutrition Information section states, the Calorie content for the 32oz is 1,520 - but that doesn't take into account the sugar. There are 155 grams of total sugars in this shake. Each gram is 4 Calories. 155 x 4 is 620. Add that to 1,520 and what you have is a 2,140 Calorie milkshake.
Isn't 32oz a giant milkshake?
It is yet it isn't.
When you think "32 ounces" (more specifically, 32 fluid ounces,) an image of a 1-liter bottle of soda may come to mind, as that's 33.8 fl oz which is very close to 32.
32 ounces of milkshake looks nothing like 32oz of soda since a milkshake is much more dense, meaning it physically weighs a lot more.
What this means is that if you actually ordered a 32oz milkshake, the physical size of the cup probably won't be as big as you might think it is...
...but the shake in its entirety still busts over 2,000 Calories. And I think that can be said for probably any 32oz milkshake.
Baskin Robbins with their Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Milkshake is, as far as I'm aware, the one with the most Calories. And it does make sense that Baskin Robbins holds the title for this, as they are an ice cream shop after all.
Burger King needs to step up their game if they want that title back. 🙂
