Banana does not wish to be modified
(For those who don't know, Banana is my 2010 Squier Bullet Strat. I call her Banana because she's banana-colored.)
I am a believer in the cosmic forces that keep this wacky world of ours put together, and yes this does extend to guitars.
Oddly enough, I've never written a post exclusively about Star Trek, so I figured it's about time I did.
Brain Candy is a movie from 1996 that came about as the result of The Kids In The Hall television show. This is one of those movies that has cult status to it and nothing more, because in all honesty, it's terrible.
I posted a video an hour or so ago on the used BOSS DR-3 I just received. The first rating on the video was a thumbs-down, so I disabled ratings because there will be a bunch of negative ones, and I know exactly why - because my guitar fans will go "Eww!" and the synth fans who are into Roland drum machines will also go "Eww!" all at once.
By next week (or late this week if it arrives early), I'll be in possession of a used (at a really good price I might add) BOSS Dr. Rhythm DR-3. That's a drum machine. I bought it for two reasons. First, my old Ensoniq SQ-1 Plus workstation synthesizer, which is over 20 years old, is wearing out. Second, I can't stand composing anything on the computer.
There is a distinct difference between recording and composing.
I currently own 4 Stratocasters. One by Fender and 3 by Squier. My very first guitar I still own, a 1989 Squier Stratocaster II. The second Strat was an 18th birthday present from my father - a 1993 Fender USA Standard Stratocaster, all $625 of it. My third is a 2010 Squier Bullet Strat, my fourth a 2012 Squier Vintage Modified Surf Stratocaster.
Below the video are the strings I talk about, where you can click the appropriate links to get prices. Bundles of 3, 6 or 12-set are almost always available.
There's several forums out there that list guitar acronyms. This is my list. I try desperately not to use these in blog posts, but every once in a while I'll slip and one will come through.
I own the above guitar as of today; a Squier Vintage Modified Surf Stratocaster (possibly the longest Fender guitar name ever) in Sonic Blue.
As some know, I do own a 1993 Fender Stratocaster USA Standard (I am the original owner and it was bought new in '93). What people don't know is that I don't play it because the neck is broken. Not physically broken, but the truss rod snapped on the inside. I went to adjust it one day and *pop*, busted truss rod where the end of it sticks out of the neck on the headstock side.
