Jackson gets it right with the Warrior WRX24 guitar
This is the first Jackson Warrior I've ever seen that I actually like.
Squier guitars are great, but there is thing about them that's very annoying that can't be avoided.
For 2018, the lower end of the electric guitar range is pretty much carrying over from 2017, with one exception. Epiphone is not making a showing here simply because their bread-and-butter guitars bust over $400 now easily. But fortunately there are still some other great choices for under $400.
