It came from the '90s: WAAF Unusual Suspects 1996

Getting a huge dose of '90s nostalgia

The '90s was the last decade where FM radio actually mattered. It was the last decade before broadband speed internet, before the iPod and before the smartphone.

While true you see images floating around the internet of people back in the '90s with CD visors in their cars stuffed with discs, most people actually just listened to the radio because it was more convenient and free.

Where I listened to the radio most was my evening drive home from whatever job I had at the time. While listening to the WAAF disc, my thoughts went back to being an early-20s New Englander in the '90s, driving around Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island, and how the world was so much different back then.

Listening to WAAF in the '90s was sort of like experiencing an audio-only version of Clerks. The music in that movie and what was being broadcast on WAAF was pretty much identical. The attitude and tone of Clerks was somewhat like what you heard on WAAF also.

Now as far as saving this stuff is concerned...
